Understanding Quebec French is easier than you think !

I’ve been conducting Quebec French workshops for three years, constantly refining and improving them. My objective is to help you better understand colloquial Quebec French and build confidence speaking.

Workshops are offered in blocks of four weeks, about every other month. We listen to and break down authentic Quebec French videos to help us understand the natural vocabulary, flow, and sound of Quebec French. We also do structured conversation practice.

Objective

  • My main goal is to help you better understand French as it is spoken informally in Quebec.
  • You will also build confidence speaking through fun communicative activities.

Dates

  • September 30 – October 22 (4 weeks).
  • One workshop/week, offered on two different days.
  • Come both days if you want – that’s up to 8 hours of French !

Schedule

  • Wednesday mornings at 10:00 a.m., Eastern Time : September 30, October 7, 14, 21.
  • Thursday evenings at 9:00 p.m., Eastern Time : October 1, 8, 15, 22.

Price

  • $100 USD for the October 2026 Access Pass (4 weeks of workshops).
  • $20 USD rebate for VIP and Frenchpresso subscribers on Patreon (with the promo code).
  • Special discounts available depending on your personal circumstances – write to me !

Required French Level

If you find it difficult to understand people speaking naturally, you’re at the right place ! The workshops are for you if :

  • You’ve studied French and have at least a B1 level (language levels explained here).
  • You understand written French better than spoken French.
  • You understand about 70% when people speak slowly and clearly.
  • You want to understand Quebec French.

Format

  • Workshops are conducted on Zoom and last 60 minutes.
  • Each workshop is offered twice a week. Come both times if you want !
  • You may enter the Zoom meeting 10 minutes before the beginning of the workshop, if you want to chat with whoever else is already there.
  • Every week, we do a listening exercise with a video, in order to understand the vocabulary, syntax, and pronunciation of colloquial Quebec French. I also try to answer all your questions !
  • After working with the video, we switch to a fun speaking activity, often in groups of two in the breakout rooms. This helps you build confidence by practicing your conversational skills in a friendly, low-stress, no pressure environment.
  • After the worskop is finished, some of us often stay a little longer, just to chat casually.
  • Workshops are recorded so you can watch them again at your leisure, whether you missed one or just want more practice.
